Sample Requests
Sample Quantity, Charges and Freight
The standard sample quantity is 200 g per sample.
Whether a sample charge applies will be confirmed case by case. Freight and transportation arrangements will also be confirmed separately for each shipment.
Sample Handling Period
The standard sample handling period is 3–10 business days.
For chargeable samples, counting begins on the first applicable business day after the sample fee has been received.
For samples provided without charge, the starting date will be confirmed separately for each request.
When the Sample Handling Period Ends
The completion point depends on who arranges transportation.
When JNP arranges transportation
The sample handling period ends when the physical sample has been handed over to the carrier or freight forwarder and a verifiable acceptance record is available.
Creating a shipping label or pre-alert alone does not constitute physical handover.
When the customer arranges collection
The sample handling period ends when the sample is ready for collection and JNP has issued a written collection notice.
Any time spent waiting for the customer or the customer’s appointed carrier to collect the sample is not included in the sample handling period.
Transit and arrival time are separate from the sample handling period. Where applicable, the party arranging transportation will provide the estimated transit time.
Commercial Orders
Minimum Order Quantity
The minimum order quantity is 1,000 kg (1 metric ton) per individual grade.
Quantities from different grades are not combined when calculating the minimum order quantity.
Standard Packaging
The current standard packaging is 20 kg net per drum, with an inner polyethylene (PE) bag.
Any alternative packaging requirements must be reviewed and confirmed separately.
Payment Terms
Commercial orders require full payment in advance.
Preparation and Production Lead Time
The standard preparation and production lead time is 25–37 business days, counting from the first applicable business day after full payment has been received.
The lead time ends when:
- Inspection has been completed.
- Packing has been completed.
- The goods are ready for shipment.
The preparation and production lead time does not include transit time or delivery to the destination.
Shipping Arrangements
The following details will be confirmed separately for each order:
- Applicable trade term
- Named place or destination
- Party responsible for arranging transportation
- Relevant shipment or delivery milestone
- Estimated departure and transit time
Carrier schedules, departure dates and transit times are estimates unless expressly confirmed otherwise in the applicable written quotation, order confirmation or contract.
How Business Days Are Calculated
Business days are calculated according to the calendar stated in the relevant quotation or order confirmation.
The applicable calendar will take into account the public holidays and normal working practices of the countries and markets involved, as well as the relevant stage of fulfilment. Production, sample handling and transportation may therefore follow different business-day calendars.
Product Suitability and Customer Evaluation
Providing a sample or quotation does not, by itself, confirm that a product is suitable for a specific formulation, production process or target market.
- Review the relevant product and technical documents.
- Check the applicable requirements of the destination market.
- Conduct your own formulation, processing and performance tests.
- Confirm that the selected grade meets your intended use.
JNP can help organize the relevant product documents and candidate-grade information for customer review.
